Our Programme
Overview of our Daily Routines
7.45 am : The teaching team arrives, set up, and prepare inside and outside curriculum areas.
8.00 am : Morning session begins. Children, parents/whānau arrive and are greeted by the teaching team. There are opportunities for brief sharing of information with families and children settle in to experiences provided.
9:45 am : Tidy up time and mat time followed by karakia kai & morning tea. Your child will be in one of 3 mat time groups: Mini Matters, Mat Time or Ako group. Morning tea is at 10 am.
10:20 am : Children choose experiences to be involved in.
12.10 pm : Tidy up time. The children staying for a full day have lunch; children going home have mat time. There are opportunities to share information and give feedback to parents/whānau on their child’s day.
12.30 pm : The morning session ends. Children who have stayed for lunch have quiet time then a shared story.
1.00 pm : The afternoon session begins. Children, parents/whānau arrive and are greeted by the teaching team. There are opportunities for brief sharing of information with families and children settle in to experiences provided.
2.10pm : We have a rolling afternoon tea of fruit & water. Children choose when they will come to eat.
2.30 pm : Children choose experiences to be involved in.
3.00 pm : Tidy up time followed by coming together in a circle to sing songs. There are opportunities to share information and give feedback to parents/whānau on their child’s day.
3.15pm : The afternoon/full day session ends. The teaching team clean up and prepare for the following day.

Session Information
East Taieri Preschool is open year round, only closing for approximately 3 weeks over the Christmas period and public holidays.
Morning Sessions - (for all enrolled children)
Monday — Friday from 8am/8.30am to 12.30pm
(families choose their start time)
Children bring their own morning tea and drink bottle.
Afternoon Sessions - (for children from around 2 ½ years)
Monday - Friday 1pm - 3.15pm
Children bring their own drink bottle. An afternoon snack of fruit is provided for all children.
Full Day Sessions - (for children enrolled in morning sessions, aged around 3 1/2 - at the discretion of the Centre Manager)
Monday — Friday from 8am/8.30am to 3.15pm

Children bring their own morning tea, lunch and drink bottle.
Our Environment
East Taieri Preschool offers children a welcoming, fun, safe and spacious indoor/outdoor learning environment.
Our wonderful teaching team provide challenging and stimulating semi-structured sessions.
The children also enjoy many opportunities for excursions and activities for family/whanau involvement.
